Eenie Mennie Minnie Moe...
Which one is Derrek? He ran for Student Council VP and had quite the campaign. He and two of his friends...Wade (Pres.) and Kelsie (Sec.) ran together as the WDK. They made headbands to share with the student body and gave out candy bars and pop! Derrek and Wade got beat out...but it was a close race. Yea for Kelsie who made Secretary. Now it's just "K"...but she has some great supporters. Answer to which one? The big green guy with the sexy legs is Derrek!

Easter/Birthday Party at the swimming pool...
I feel lucky to work at a place where...so far...all of our boys have also worked. The swimming pool turns 19 years old this year. We also had the Fillmore City Annual Easter party. There were probably about 100 people that attended. What a long but fun day!

News from Kalam...
Kalam says, "It's starting to get warm over here. It's about 65-70 degrees. It will get hot and humid really quick. The work is going great and I'm loving it. My companion is really cool and helping me out and making sure I eat my veggies. We were at a members house getting ready to eat dinner, so we had sword fights with their kids and one of them brought out this helmet. It was so much fun. Time has flown by so quick. Tell everyone HI for me. I love you all and miss you."
Jr. Prom night for Derrek
Derrek and Wade decided to have their Jr. Prom Dinner at our house. We fixed steak, strimp and dutch oven potatoes for them. A couple of the mom's pitched in and helped with the food items.
What a handsome and lovely group! Everyone at the dance looked great. The kids had helped with the decorations...the theme was..."An Evening in Egypt".
Kelsey and Derrek sure made a great couple. From the looks of the picture...they had a great time! They did their dance as a class and then the parents had the opportunity to dance with their Jr. We even got Sam to dance with Derrek's date...What a night to remember.

Didn't really know we would have boys who are multi talented!
When our high school drill was heading for State, boys from the 9-12th grade were volunteered to dance! This is now the second son we have who has done this. Makes a parent wonder if we went wrong somewhere?! Just kidding...it's all for fun and I really thought the freshman and sophmore boys dance was better than the Junior and Seniors. They danced to Michael Jackson's "Beat It". Tim is the one on the end on the right side. Way to dance Tim!

Weekly news from Kalam
The last email we sent to Kalam was about our dog of 11 years passing on. Kalam was 8 yrs old when we got him as a puppy. Here is what Kalam said in his email. "That's sad to hear about Biggs. I had a feeing that he was going to go while I was out here. But I didn't think it was going to be that quick. It just goes to show that we never know when it is our time to go so we need to do as it says in the scriptures and to prepare to meet God now and don't wait." He says that everything is going good, but the snow. They have had to stay inside for a couple of days. Good time to study. They received their transfers, but he is staying in the same area with the same companion. Thanks for the love and support you have all shown to Kalam. He wanted to let everyone know that he appreciates it.

Family loss...We love you Biggs!
Today...this afternoon...we lost Biggs our boxer dog. We were able to have many fun memories of him for the last 11 years. He died of basically old age. He was going blind and had arthritis in his hips. When we found him, he was in his kennel outside and laying down facing the west. In our backyard, we have the perfect view to watching the sunset. We love Biggs and the joy he has brought to our family. May he now enjoy his freedom from pain in his new life.
Tim at the Jr High State Wrestles!
This last weekend Tim competed at the Jr High State Wrestles. There were about 16 boys in his bracket. Only two were 2A and the others were all 3A. He won 2 and lost 2. He was beat out...but did very well this year. His record for the season is 23 wins and 7 losses. He has become quite the wrestler and loves it. This weekend he is supporting the Millard Eagle Wrestlers at Region in Richfield. Go EAGLES!!!
Out 6 months today!

The email we received from Kalam was pretty awesome! He is doing great and teaching a lot of people and finding those who want to know more about the gospel. He says, "It's cool to see the changes in their lives and how much happier they are." We are seeing changes in Kalam as we read his emails. It snowed about 8 inches where he is and he says that the schools were shut down. They are suspose to get a bigger snow storm this weekend. They don't have snow plows, so the roads get really bad. He says to say HI to everyone and that he appreciates all that you do for him. We are so very proud of him!
